Confession Time

2004_alexander_523

I love writing for this site! I love the Jolie-Pitt family and love being able to update you guys on how they’re doing (and, of course, to show you tons of pics and videos). I am a huge fan of the entire family. But I have a confession to make.

I have not seen every movie that Brad and Angelina have done.

It’s not that I haven’t wanted to see every movie, it’s just that life interrupts things sometimes. When you live with a man who is pretty picky about the movies he watches (I was not allowed to watch Brokeback Mountain while he was in the house!), it can get tricky to watch what you want to watch. Add to that the fact that there are constantly new movies coming out that we want to see, and movies get lost in the shuffle.

One of the movies that I would most like to see that stars Angelina Jolie, which I have yet to have seen, is Alexander.

I think I know how I missed this movie. Our daughter was born in 2004, and any mom knows that the first six months (heck, the first year) of a newborn’s life kind of warps reality a bit. You’re so focused on raising your child that you tend to miss things. And since it was my second child, I was learning how to parent both children so that they both received my best.

Nevertheless, this is one movie that I missed out on and haven’t been able to see yet. Which is surprising because I tend to love movies that are based (even loosely) on history.

My husband is heading to hunting camp again this year – he’ll be gone for three weekends. Last year I used the quiet evenings to catch up on some movies that I’d wanted to see but that he hadn’t been interested in seeing. I’m thinking that maybe I should catch Alexander this weekend…what do you think?

Are there any Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie movies that you haven’t seen?

Personally, I would not recomment “Alexander” because it’s a terrible movie overall and Angelina is only in a few scenes. I think the movie would have been much better if the director (I forget his name) would not have focused on the “homosexual” so much. Also, having a hispanic woman play the Persian Roxane (Alexander’s wife) was very bad casting.

I have seen most of Angelina’s movies because I first saw her in “Gia” on TV and followed her after that. I did recently see “Sky Captain” and I wish I hadn’t because Angelina doesn’t come on screen until over an hour into the movie and is there less than 20 minutes altogether!!! I was so annoyed and the movie was only okay!! I do have a couple of her movies that I haven’t seen on my netflix list . . . “Beyond Borders” is one of them and I can’t remember the other one.

As for Brad’s movies . . . I have to admit I hadn’t seen too many of them because, in his earlier days, he was always too “pretty” for my tastes. I prefer a rugged man and one who is not blond. In fact, the very first Brad movie I saw was “Burn After Reading”!!! I’ve now seen “Benjamin Button”, “Jessie James”, “Babel” and “Mr and Mrs. Smith”. Since joining netflix, I’ve put several of his earlier movies on my list but I really don’t think I want to see them. I think he’s a really good actor but I prefer him today rather than years ago!!

I tried to watch Alexander…..but couldn’t watched it all, it got boring….I watched Angelina’s parts she was good. I haven’t watched all their movies either…..but I have watched most of Angelina’s movies….I really like Legend of the Falls that Brad did.
Anyway you might like Alexander you have to watch it and let us know your opinion.

For me, I have seen less of Brad’s movies than Angelina’s – I have seen all of hers with the exception of her very first movie – Cyborg 2? Or something like that.

I do love Brad and Angelina, but I have actually seen very few of their movies. The ones that I have seen are the more recent ones. Actually just yesterday, I watched a movie of Angelina’s “Life or Something Like It” that I have never even heard about. In fact, it was my sister who told me to watch the movie. Her character there is very different, and I was surprised to see her in that role. It was very enjoyable movie! :)

You know, you can see this movie to satisfy your curiosity but, apart from the 15-20min that Angelina Jolie is on screen, the movie is not that good. In any way, when she’s on screen, she’s more than beautiful, so it won’t hurt if you watch it… :)

    Good luck!

BTW I believe I’ve seen all Angelina’s movies and most of Brad’s too, even the bad ones…

I have not seen all of both their movies. I have the same situation that my husband doesn’t like what I like. It doesn’t bother me because I love to read. Melodie I have wondered what happen to you. Glad to know that you are okay.
